pretty in pink…..and junk makeovers and ideas….

bocpink

my, my….look at the pretty pink flowers zoey bought for me today!!!!!! i went to the booth, then went to pick up arek from school and zoey from her little day school at a home day care and her provider helped zoey pick these out for me!!! what a sweet surprise. zoey had these and a BIG box of kid makeup. oh the fun we had with that. argh. my fingernails and toenails were painted 7 or 8 times tonight. what a trip.

i don’t have too much for you tonight. my fingers hurt. they are cracked, bleeding, and sore from working on so many crafts. between that and dishes, baths for the kids, cooking, laundry, cleaning and grooming….my hands DON’T stand a chance. i need to be in one of those old palmolive dish soap commercials with marge or madge or whomever it was.

the booth has been pretty steady. business is picking back up again and i’ve spent quite some time working hard to restock this week. i had a chance to hit my $20 a box thrift haunt today. what a fun store…nice folks run it and who can beat a box for $20? the merchandise isn’t old, but i did manage to find some vintage goodies, some craft making stuff, some trash to treasure goodies, some cast off fabrics, a chandie, vintage basket, odds and ends….

i have been trying to ‘use’ what i have and make projects with some of my stash. i have so many little crafty doodads, that i decided to showcase them in things to sell. i took several little cups, plates, painted vessels, soda fountain glasses, etc…full of buttons to the booth today. they turned out cute. i managed to come up with a couple of ideas for using what you have. i love to fill garment bags with vintage ephemera, smalls, fabrics, buttons, etc…and sell as is.

i added old patterns, doll dresses, sequins, bows, lace, buttons, buckles, beads, emphemera, vintage linens, lace, notecards, jewels, etc….they look good just displayed as is.

another cool project for cast offs….found this flour sifter as part of my box, also vintage cook book. rolled recipes, added pink ribbon, old notecard that says measure and i decoupaged (after i took this photo) a vintage laundry soap ad to the sifter. easy. cute little gift for the vintage girl that has everything….

i will try to take some trash to treasure photos of things i make this weekend.

i made this love banner with tea stained paper and printed letters. found a huge ball of the pink string for cheap. works great for this project. easy….

i want to share this with you. my friend sally made this little chandie pic. she painted the chandie and the words on an old book  back and framed it. i think it is sooooo clever. the chandie is darling. just a few simple brush strokes of creamy, ivory paint and there is a masterpiece. it’s sooo darling. thanks sally for making something so cute. it looks lovely with my lady and chairs.

lastly….chippy white basket found today while junking for the $20 box. it was on the dusty floor all out of its element holding pots and pans.

  1. I really like your crafter’s garment bag idea – just fab. But my favourite thing about your blog is your tagline!

    Sue,
I’ll grab you a big blue tin of Nivea Hand Cream at the Edeka Neukauf. I swear by it now. You remember how my hands used to look a hundred years old during the winter…now they only look 70 or so… I love the crafts you’ve been doing! Hugs to Arek and Zoey. Andrew and Katie enjoy looking at their photos. 🙂

  4. Love all the crafts and your finds. Your mantle looks great!
